What Is hypnosis?

Hypnosis is a natural state of mind which relaxes the mind and body and allows the subconscious to be open to suggestion. All people virtually experience hypnosis on a shallow level many times throughout the day. Guided hypnosis, meaning a Certified Hypnotherapist guides an individual into hypnosis allowing for the individual to relax far deeper, making the body and mind relax deep enough to be able to take in suggestions in the subconscious mind that work therapeutically. Essentially hypnosis removes mental blocks and allowing for suggestions that bring about self-improvement, enrichment and desired changes. It is painless and carries no risks. It is a two-way communication process between a hypnotist and a client using guided imagery to make subconscious changes which bring forward desired results. It can be used for pain management, sports performance enhancement and focus, losing weight, smoking cessation and more. The uses are nearly endless.

How does the subconscious mind affect life?

Essentially the mind has two parts. The conscious mind (the part that actively processes all kinds of information at any given time) and the subconscious mind (the part that defines who we are and how we perceive the information we process). The subconscious mind is where our beliefs are set, like deep roots. Our beliefs determine how we perceive everything we experience, what we learn from our experiences and how we tend to react to and handle our experiences. Our beliefs influence every single decision (big or small) that we make every day. Altogether the subconscious mind sums up how we live and what we do with our lives. Our beliefs are developed at a very young age… too young to realize that they are being developed. That is why as adults many of us say or do things “a certain way” and if asked why, we can’t explain it other than to say “that’s just the way I’ve always been,” or “that’s the way I’ve always done it.” Sound familiar?

Many people start to make the connection that there is something in their past, something deep in their mind that is the root of certain thoughts, behaviors, habits, etc. and they want to change. The trouble comes when they make true attempts to change but fail and end up going back to what was the norm. The reason is that their belief systems (the roots, the norms) which are already in place are so deep and so strong that the subconscious mind does not allow the conscious mind to make permanent changes. Since hypnosis works with the subconscious mind it can create new beliefs (plant new roots) which will lead to making permanent changes in life.

What can hypnosis be used for?
